Built from something personal
Stocks Workshop began during one of the most challenging periods of my life. In March 2020, after being made redundant, I struggled significantly with my mental health. With the support of my family, I returned to something I had always loved working with wood and moved into making furniture. What started as a way to rebuild soon became something much more meaningful: a passion for creating pieces with real character, quality, and purpose.
Where it began
The journey started in my grandmother’s workshop at her home, Stocks. It was there that the first pieces were made, and where the foundations of the business were quietly formed. As my craft developed and my standards became more refined, I knew I wanted to build something in her honour — a company that reflected both where it all began and the care behind every piece we now create. That is how Stocks Workshop was born.
Furniture, considered differently
At Stocks Workshop, we believe furniture should be more than functional. It should feel intentional, substantial, and built to last. Every piece we create is guided by a simple philosophy — respect the material, refine the design, and never compromise on craftsmanship.
The material comes first
We source hand-selected timber, choosing each piece for its grain, character, and natural movement. No two boards are ever the same, and we believe that is something to be embraced — not hidden. The material itself shapes the final piece, giving it individuality and depth.
Crafted with intention
Traditional methods guide the way we work, allowing the material to behave as it should. Modern techniques refine and protect the finish, ensuring every piece performs as well as it looks. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is accidental.
Built differently
We remain a small, family-run workshop, and that is intentional. It allows us to focus on what matters — carefully selected timber, thoughtful design, and a level of craftsmanship that cannot be rushed or mass-produced. Rather than investing in expensive showrooms and unnecessary overheads, we put that value directly into the materials, the making, and the finished piece.
